Our Staff
Here at Mandrake’s we believe the key to our peerless service is our strong management team with many years of experience and expertise.
Lothar Sticher – Founder / Director, Lothar has 60 years of experience in motor vehicle panel and paint repairs.
Stephanie Sticher – Founder/ Director / Financial Controller, Stephanie is responsible for the financials including cash flow, budgets and creditor management. Stephanie has been with the business for 40 years.
Scott Sticher – Director / General Manager, Scott is responsible for the day to day operations in the work shop. Scott has been with the business for 27 years.
Our History
Originally established in 1979 by Stephanie and Lothar Sticher, Mandrakes Paint & Panel started as a mobile service, and after a couple of years they opened a store on Wellington Street in Cleveland. Thanks to a constantly growing customer base, in 1984 they moved into a much larger workshop to meet customer demand at 71 Shore Street West, Cleveland.
The name Mandrakes comes from the old comic strip character “Mandrake the Magician”, whose sidekick was Lothar. Stephanie and Lothar thought this was a fun play on words as a name for their business.
As a family owned and operated business, Stephanie and Lothar have passed the reins on to their son Scott, who is continuing his parent’s legacy of quality panel repairs. Today the business now employs 16 highly trained staff, many of which are long term. Robert started his panel beating apprenticeship in 1986 and still works with us to this day. Tony the workshop foreman started in 1993, and many of our other staff are also long-term employees.
